My two pence........
Which fly for seatrout? Well here's my approach:

Loch seatrouting: Bumbles, bumbles, bumbles. Yip that's it. Dark olive with a real blue jay collar. Big ones size 8.

River: This is my first season tackling the Kyle so I've limited expertise in the field but so far a size 6 silver,blue and black low water double has done it. Fished on a sinktip with a steady constant retrieve.

I've come to the conclusion that seatrout feed in Lochs but attack flies out of aggression in rivers......... but I stand to be corrected......

teal blue and silver aswell as the soldier palmer sem to work well on the upper kyle
