Keith, it was in fairly good shape considering but to be honest it's my first sea trout that's actually been bigger than a pilchard as they're not usually my target species. Keep in mind that we are after scales and measurements from as many sea trout as possible and I have small scale packets that can be put in a fishing bag or pocket. For those fishers who are targetting sea trout we also have very simple log books that only take a few seconds to fill in. All this is part of the Moray Firth Sea Trout Project.
